Troops and islanders presented with Tet gifts

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, delegations from military units visited, extended Tet greetings and presented Tet gifts to troops and islanders in Truong Sa, Ly Son and Co To island districts.

From January 2 to 12, a delegation from Naval Squadron 129 of the Saigon Newport Corporation, led by its Deputy Commander Colonel Pham Van Quy visited and presented Tet gifts to the Center for Logistics and Technical Services in Truong Sa townlet, the Logistics and Technical Service Center on Sinh Ton Island, and Toc Tan and Nui Le fishing villages in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province.

The delegation offered incense in tribute to fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty over the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and gave 60 Tet gifts to the armed forces stationed in Truong Sa townlet, on Sinh Ton Island, in Toc Tan and Nui Le villages and needy households in Truong Sa townlet and on Sinh Ton Island.

On January 13, a mission from Quang Ngai province led by Senior Colonel Nguyen Tan Lam, member of the standing committee of the provincial Party Committee, commander of the provincial military command, visited and checked combat readiness posture and Tet preparations at units stationed in Ly Son island district.

The delegation also presented gifts from the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Military Command to the local armed forces and units, policy families and needy households.

On the same day, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command sent a mission to visit and extend Tet wishes to the Party Committee, authorities and people of Co To island district (Quang Ninh province). In addition, the mission offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his temple on the island and presented gifts to 15 policy families and needy households.
