On this occasion, General Chien asked functional agencies to closely work with the provincial People’s Committee to make good preparations for this important event and to ensure its success.

According to the senior officer, this event when successfully held will help promote the solidarity and friendship between the two neighboring countries.

The exchange is scheduled to take place this June. Highlights of the event will be a solemn welcoming ceremony with the attendance of high-ranking officials, a border-marker saluting ceremony, a joint patrol, a memorial tree planting festival, a joint epidemic prevention drill, and an inaugural ceremony in commemoration of the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.

Other sideline activities consist of a free health checkups and medicine offering program for people living on both sides of the shared borderline, and numerous cultural, artistic, and sport exchanges.
